Testing for hum

Here is a pic of the amp in action with the KT77 tubes.

I hooked the EL34 up to a pair of Tannoy MX2 speakers. They have an SLP of around 93db @ 1watt. With the amps volume control turn all the way to maximum volume, I could hear no hum. I hooked up my ipod to see how it sounds compared to my Baby amp, and it blew it away. The extra power really controls the bass a lot better.

I set up the EL34 next to my Sophia Baby amp to test the amp on speakers. The EL34 is almost double the size and a much nicer looking amp. I would sell the baby and keep the EL34 if size was not an issue for my Brooklyn apartment.

here are some pics to show the overall condition of the Sophia EL34 amp. this unit is mint (I can not find any scratches, scuffs or blemishes). The flash did create reflections on the shiny parts of the amp and picked up any dust that was there. In person the amp looks flawless
